This is the memory I will remember as the last time I saw Grandpa Udall. I love it and am very content with it:
I loved that when I would walk to his front door and see him sitting in his usual spot on the left side of the couch, I would open the door and when he saw me he put a smile on his face. I would always say “Hello, sir!” and he would say “Hello my girl. Let me hold your hand for a minute.” I would walk over to him, give his hand a squeeze, and he would always say, “I’m proud of you, honey.”
I am so thankful to know that death is not the end. I’m sure I will miss him a lot, but right now, I can’t help but be happy for him. I am so happy for my grandpa right now. He is with my grandma again and I know he is truly happy. I am grateful for our family and their ability to keep us together. I love our big family and I’m so glad we get along so well. Our family gatherings are definitely among my favorite things. I am so grateful for the wonderful people our grandparents were. I love them.
